The coastal section that takes its name from the Cinque Terre, constituted by the villages of Monterosso, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola and Riomaggiore, is around 15 Km long and stands out as one of the most uncontaminated natural and seminatural mediterranean areas.
A unique landscape in the whole world, Cinque Terre are somehow magical… From Riomaggiore starts the beautiful "Via dell'Amore" that, digged into the rocky wall, unties itself along the coast right upon the sea, and ends to the ancient sea village of Manarola, whose characteristic small port is protected in a gulf enclosed in two rocky spurs.
Clinged on a rocky promontory right above the sea you can find Corniglia, while Monterosso, divided in two parts by the medieval Aurora tower, is surrounded by the native vegetation as in a hug, and its marvelous beaches, the beautiful cliffs and the crystal clear water of the sea make the town one of the most welcoming ones of the Levante Riviera.
A characteristic corner is Vernazza, where the presence of refined architectorial elements such as loggias, colonnades, doors, show that the way of living here was of a higher economical and social level, compared to the other towns of Cinque Terre.
Crystal clear sea, a net of walking paths among the richest in the mediterranean areas and a mild climate made the Cinque Terre become one of the most desired destinations for tourists. These climate conditions allow the plantation of the olive tree, of citrus trees and viticolture, that led Unesco to declaring Cinque Terre "World Heritage Site" in 1997, and guarantee the production of the extremely scented Sciacchetrà passito wine, known worldwide.
